This engaging workshop on Sunday, April 23rd from 9AM-1PM Pacific Time is about becoming the parent you’d like to be, with help from the Enneagram of Personality! Are you curious to know how the Enneagram can help you as a parent? Well, this is a 4-hour support group just for you! Join us for an open discussion about all things parenting, through the lens of the Enneagram. We encourage you to bring whatever specific parenting issues are coming up for you right now—is your type somehow driving the issue? Or your child’s type? We can help you answer these questions, and any others you have about how to use the Enneagram to parent more effectively.
The Enneagram can give you insights into what motivates the behavior of your child, and give you a deeper understanding of what they need. You’ll learn about common patterns of type-based misunderstanding that happen between parents and children (for instance, a Type 3 parent focused on success trying to parent a Type 4 child focused on being true to themselves). In some ways, the patterns of our Enneagram types may offer us many gifts as parents – but they can also create challenges. This workshop is about learning how to work with those challenges in more effective ways (in addition to using the gifts!).
The specific material covered in all of our workshops varies depending on the needs and interests of the attendees. We’d like to tailor the content covered so that everyone receives the information that’s most useful to them rather than presenting a static lecture about the Enneagram of parenthood. This course will include lots of guided discussion, participation, and interaction. You’ll get the chance to receive personalized feedback and perspective on your parent-child relationships.
Depending on the interests of the group, we may explore:
The strengths, motivations, and challenges of your type as well as your child’s (potential) type
How to identify your own type
Type-specific issues that may be influencing you as a parent
How the Enneagram can enrich your relationships with your children
How type differences may be affecting the dynamic between you and your kids
Dynamics between yourself and your own parent(s)
Current struggles and issues in your parent-child relationship (if you choose to share them with us!)
