You know that thing your partner does that drives you totally nuts? Wouldn’t it be nice if it just didn’t bother you so much? Or maybe there's a broken record argument in your relationship. One of those disagreements where you and the other person are locked into your own strongly held positions and can't find a way out. Would you like to find some resolution? If this resonates, our workshop coming up on February 25th from 9AM-1PM Pacific Time is just what you’re looking for.
This workshop will help you see the inner logic behind that seemingly bewildering thing they do, along with the aspects of your own inner logic that make it difficult for you to see their perspective.
While true disagreements in viewpoint and value systems do exist, they often cause less difficulty to our relationships than how we mutually misunderstand one another’s positions. What our type naturally listens for and tends to hear can get in the way of hearing what the other person is actually saying.
If we can pause long enough to stop hearing the situation as the other person calling us wrong, we create space to perceive what important thing is at stake for this person with whom we “argue on repeat.”
We might say that the argument keeps happening because, when the defenses (and/or voices) of both parties are raised, nobody walks away from the conversation feeling that the important thing at stake for them was actually seen and acknowledged.
This workshop includes lots of guided discussion, participation, and interaction, so you’ll get the chance to receive personalized information about how your type/subtype may be showing up in your relationships.
Come tell us about that sticky thing you and your partner (or bestie, or family member) chronically disagree on. We want to help it be actually seen and acknowledged. Let’s explore together through the lens of the Enneagram, and see if the sticky thing can become unstuck.
According to the interests of the group, we’ll explore the following topics:
What leaves you feeling loved (or unloved)
How you like to express love (and receive it)
How you see your Enneagram type/subtype show up as romance begins, flourishes, and perhaps ends
How to recognize when your type/subtype is wreaking havoc on relationship(s)
Tips for navigating type/subtype differences between you and your partner(s)
Anything that you’re curious about in regard to the Enneagram and romantic relationships!
